A good landscaper is so hard to find. We hired Dan Melena and his crew for about 3 to 4 years to do our spring cleanups, mulching & mowing before we moved out of the area. Dan and his team transformed our front and back yard landscaping! Dan displayed a wealth of knowledge. He was the only landscaper we had who came out and actually drew out everything he was thinking to do during our consultation. My husband and I are very pleased with everything his team has done. I watched the guys working through my window and the craftsmanship and attention to detail was top notch! They built not just a landscaping wall, but truly a statement piece! Dan and his hard-working team completely transformed our tired, overgrown yard. Dan’s recommended landscape architect, Gayle Frazer, drew out a very thoughtful, colorful plan for us to enjoy during the six months we are in Cincinnati. The neighbors are oohing and aahing over the beautiful two-tier stone retaining wall, colorful perennials, and fresh shrubs in the front and the refreshed beds and all the gorgeous plants outlined in river rock in the back. Dan is hands on and meticulous. He doesn’t miss a detail and will always offer suggestions to keep things practical. Five stars for this outstanding team! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Dan Melena. We used Dan for our extensive landscape project when our landscape architect recommended him to us. She said he was an A+ vendor and she was right! From the moment I met with Dan I knew he was the one for the job. He was friendly and approachable while also being professional. His pricing was competitive for the large scale job we wanted him to do.
Dan was on site everyday to check on the project and check in with us. We were starting from scratch with a blank canvas so there were many components of the project he had to oversee. The first crew came in to install the drain tiles and work on a drainage system for the yard. Once that was complete the next crew moved in to install the landscape. Everyone on his team was courteous and hard working. They took great care of each step of the plan.
Dan was always interested in whether or not we were happy with the work and was helpful with suggestions when we wanted to make a few changes. He recommended a tree service company for us to use to make sure the trees reach their full potential. He is not a one and done vendor. He is interested in maintaining relationships. We look forward to working on phase 2 of our project with him in the future.
We have used Melena Landscaping for 4 years. They have done our weekly mowing/trimming, spring and fall cleanup, as well as landscape installation.
